In my opinion the best light out for most purposes is the TLR by Streamlight: http://www.opticsplanet.net/streamlight-tlr1-weapon-mounted-flashlight.html . Bright, light, adaptable, recoil-resistant and unobtrusive. Very popular with about zero returns. Surefire makes great lights also, but expensive. You get what you pay for.
