Bushnell Night Vision 5X42 Stealth View Digital Night Vision

I work for a local government agency and therefore am operating on a fiscal year, so I need to make my purchase soon.

I'm hoping for some advice from one of your product specialists.

I was considering the Bushnell Night Vision 5X42 Stealth View Digital Night Vision Monocular 260542. I liked the fact that it looked like it would be pretty easy to hook it up to a digital camera, etc. But I opted to spend the considerably larger sum on the Night Owl in the hopes of getting a superior image. I can't afford to spend too much more than the Night Owl but want to get the best equipment for my dollar.

The only night vision I am familiar with is an ITT NQ160 Night Mariner that was purchased years ago. Do you have any recommendations for me for in-stock items that might be a good buy for my situation.

To equal the performance of the Stealth you would have to spend several times minimum what it costs for a comparable gen 2 unit. Connecting to a digital camera requires a camera with removable lenses and appropriate step rings to connect the camera to the night vision unit. Sometimes it just isn't possible, depending on your equipment. The Stealth may be connected to a video camera for recording just by plugging it in, but it is doubtful if it is possible to connect it to a digital still camera. There is no easy way to find out if a particular unit you are interested in is adaptable to your camera. The manufacturer may be of some help, but the only way to find out for sure is to take the night vision unit and your camera to a camera shop and try to fit it together. Then you have to make sure it will work. Might or might not. No easy answers, sorry.
